Boys' U15B v Worksop

Venue: Away, depart 13.15.  Match starts at 3.15pm at Portland School,  Netherton Road,  Worksop S80 2SF

Team: Howle (L) capt., Perera (L), Coupland-Smith (N), Matthews (N), Taroni (O), Annable (P), Carver (P), Harold (P), Bowen-West (S), Fox-Davies (S), Goodhead (S), Martin (S), Turner (S).

 Result: Lost 2-0

Match Report:

The Repton Boys were looking for a good performance after only managing a draw to the same side last year; however the first half performance was going to have to improve significantly if they wished to achieve this goal

Repton played well in the first half, however fell behind as Worksop capitalised on a defensive mistake which left us picking the ball out of the back of our goal. This encouraged the Worksop attackers who now constantly pressed on our defence only to come across Goodhead who time after time denied the Worksop attackers to further advance their lead.

The second half saw a better standard of hockey from Repton, passing the ball around and continually pressing on the Worksop defence only to then see the ball whistle wide of the target or rebound of the keeper to safety. As Repton pressed harder to find the goal that would bring the scores level, Worksop hit us on the counter attack, and managed to notch up another goal.

Overall the second half saw a confident Repton side who were unlucky to come away without scoring as they deserved more.
