Match Report:
The Trent fixture is always the toughest of the U15B season, and usually is about the third match we play, when we have a couple of morale-boosting wins under our belt and also a better idea of each other's game. Because of the snow, this was our first fixture of the season, and, because of a nasty stomach bug, it was not my first-choice XI on the pitch.
The excuses stop there, however. We lost this game convincingly because they were a much more skilful side than us, and a much physically fitter side. In the first half, I think they were also the hungrier side, although I'm pleased that we responded with more vigour in the second period.
It can only get better from here - and it will.
