Match Report:

Fraser Lane won the toss again on what looked like was going to be a rain affected day, and choose to take to the field and make use of the damp pitch. Kavanagh opened the bowling, and bowled good lines at times with great support from Moss at the other end. It was Kavanagh who made the early break through, sneaking a ball through Oakham’s opening batsman’s defence; however Oakham’s number 3 came to the crease and took charge of the situation building a solid platform for Oakham to have a thrash at the end. Redfern and Davis supported the bowling attack and managed to pick up two wickets a piece up for themselves on the way.

In chase Repton managed only 154-9 with Congiu and Moss playing some excellent cricket on the way. Batting with intelligence they pushed the singles working the field to their strengths and then ensured the bad ball was dispatched to the boundary. In support of the chase the remaining Repton batsmen failed to make double figures and in attempt to keep up with the run rate lost wickets quickly.

A good display of cricket from both sides with only Repton’s 48 extra’s stopping them from winning the game.
