Result:
L 4-0

Match Report:
The good news is that last year it was something like 7-0. And that's it!

This Repton team certainly is stronger and more willing to scrap for the ball, getting properly stuck in but there is a reluctance to push forward and our half of the pitch underwent a war of attrition for most of the game. We were not helped by the absence of our solid left back, nor by absence in the A team which meant our best midfielder moved up. Excuses, excuses, but we really did want to win this one.

Admittedly we held the score at 1-0 for 55 of the 70 minutes. It would have been two after Hardcastle's spectacular handball but Hewitt got down to the penalty kick and saved well. However, in the last fifteen we tired. Concentration slipped and we succumbed to three sloppy goals.

Tribute must go to the captain, Wrinch, who is seldom beaten at the back and whose work-rate is tremendous. Newcomer, Hardcastle, is also a great addition to the side, shoring up the right back position.

Shrewsbury next! Well, there are no easy games in . . . the B team.
