Uppingham 157 - 8
Repton 158 - 6 ( T. Bacon 39, J. Gough 30, L. Cosford 25, M. Goodhead 21 )
Match Report:
After a very early wicket Uppingham's 2nd wicket pair put on 96 with some very good batting but Will Hughes broke the stand and then solid Repton bowling and fielding pegged them back and almost dismissed the team. Liam Kavanagh bowled a very good spell of 6 overs in the middle of the innings which helped to restrict them and good catches were taken, 2 by Tom Bacon, both in the deep.
As a result we found ourselves chasing 158 to win on a very good pitch. A good start was given by Felix Waters and James Gough, 44 in 10 overs when the first wicket fell. Luke Cosford then bashed some boundaries but poor shot selection did for all the top 3 batsmen. It left us with 68 to win in the last 10 overs. Most of these runs were scored by the Goodhead / Bacon partnership which took us to within reach of victory. Tom Bacon hit 6 fours and a six in his innings and was only dismissed with less than 10 to win. He was Man of the Match in a good all-round team performance.
