Match Report:
Repton fought hard to defeat a strong Thomas Alleynes side, with goals from Hughes, Kavanagh and Gough and a penalty save by Congiu. Repton started the stronger side and took the lead inside two minutes as Gough latched on to a through ball and place it passed the keeper. By half-time Repton were three up as Kavanagh, with a twenty-five yard shot, and Hughes added to the lead. Before the half was over Thomas Alleynes had a chance to get back into the match as Congiu was judged to have brought down the striker in the penalty area. However, Congiu made amends with a fine save, low to his left. The second half was a far tighter affair and Thomas Alleynes gave themselves a lifeline with a goal, but a second Hughes goal seemed to kill off any revival. Alleynes scored a second close to the end with another penalty, which Congiu was unable to keep out, and they struck the woodwork in the dying seconds. Repton, however, ran out worthy winners.
