St. Peter’s York was a mammoth trek but the afternoon proved very fruitful. All pairs played some superb tennis to help the team to an overall win 7 – 2. Howle and Lloyd who rather disappointingly, by their own admission, let the first set slip then proceeded to tear through the other pairs without losing a single game. Nevill and Sentance played very well together all afternoon and after losing one set to a very tight tie break tore through the other pairs losing only a single game. The first pair of Buckland and Wrinch had an excellent afternoon too playing some really good doubles, combining well at the net to pick off some very well thought out points. They dropped only two games in their three matches. Overall then it was a super afternoon’s tennis but I was particularly pleased that they all answered my call for fewer unforced errors this time out and also the way they kept focussed in their matches which is not always easy when playing weaker teams.
Well done to all players– I want more of the same next time out please!
