Result: Trent College 2 Repton 1
Match Report: The big freeze meant that week 3 saw the first round of hockey fixtures against Trent College. Late changes because of injury and illness, and the lack of training because of the weather, meant that the U14C were not as well prepared as they might have been, but this didn't show in their play. An open, flowing game from a C team illustrated the strength in depth in this year group and it wasn't long before Repton went ahead with an excellent move and a goal from captain Charlie Bell. The opposition rarely ventured into the Repton half for much of the first period, so it was a bit of a surprise when they scored the equaliser from a quick break out of defence. Half time; 1:1. In the second half Repton created, and squandered, the best of the chances, but Trent College managed to scramble the winner shortly before the full time whistle. Notable performances came from Matthew Goodacre, who was tireless in midfield, and Digby Dymock, who was a rock in defence.
