Match Report:

With no substitutes and against a Worksop team that literally towered over us this was undoubtedly going to be a tough match, and so it proved. We showed much more skill and our passing game began to look very strong but it was skill against brawn and the direct approach of Worksop was difficult to contain. The strong defensive work from Adam Carlile and Dygby Dymock frustrated their attack time and again. Ben Readman playing in defense for the first time grew in confidence and relentlessly, and calmly, plucked the ball repeatedly from players and deftly dodged into space to make constructive passes. Mention must go to the midfield where Matt Davidson played his most consummate game so far and Jack Clarke's magical runs unnerved Worksop. James Novotny fitted well into this line up and, although already having played half a match, kept running and linked well with his controlled passing. And so to the forwards with Raees Rauf gaining confidence each time he skilfully beat a player and James Lancer pushing deeper and by going further away from the ball became a better target for his team-mates to find. Matt Morris proving to be a tricky player to defend against with his wily runs threatened every time he received the ball. Goals came from Matt Morris cleaning up a loose ball in the circle and a very clean strike from Matt Davisdson at a short corner brought us level in the last minute of the game. Birthday boy Rowan Saunders kept out some good shots, once again earning the gratitude of his team mates for his heroics.
