Match Report: This was a good first match and an excellent result. The team began with real gusto and looked threatening in attack. We scored first after some good pressure, which Jason Taft managed to convert. Unfortunately a lack of oxygen seemed to inhibit our decision-making and we began to give the ball away direct to Trent sticks. This made the second half of the first half heavy going and we lost the initiative. Trent capitalised and scored their equaliser, a high shot into the roof of the goal. Half time allowed some order to be restored and from this point on the game swayed back under our control. Some very good play by Marcus Wilcock led the way, with good work by Jason Taft, Matt Morris and Ryan Binns all helping to cause real problems for the Trent defence. Our defence had steadied and so with both ends of the pitch feeling confident we dominated the last fifteen minutes. One goal was disallowed as Matt Morris heroically guided the ball into the net with his nose but James Lancer shuffled the winning goal and finished the match with a deserved 2-1 win.
