Match Report:
Repton put into bat and quickly lost wickets in each of the first three overs. Robin Astin took charge at it positively hitting four fours in one over. Unfortunately he also fell to another good ball from their opening bowler. This brought and Jack Sanders who made a promising start hitting the ball cleanly and started a good partnership with Raes Rauf. After Ralf was outstanding Matthew Morris came to the wicket quickly getting into his stride hitting three fours in one over. Sanders was eventually out hitting four sixes in a total of 63. At the end of the innings Edward Ballantyne-Rowland helped boosted the total to 161 with a quickfire 20 not out.
All of the initial bowlers were economic will and after eight overs rugby were scoring at four an over below what they needed for victory. However, wickets were hard to come by and after 20 overs rugby had scored 98 for the loss of only three wickets. Digby Dimmock bowled very straight and took a wicket in his first over. Robin Astin came back from his opening spell to take three good wickets and put the pressure on rugby. They responded scoring 28 in three overs requiring only two runs for victory in the final over. Despite taking a wicket in the end Repton could not hold on and rugby ended up winning by three wickets in what was a tremendously hard fought game.
