Match Report:

It was a long journey and Dean Close took full advantage of our hesitant start by attacking quickly and putting away two goals before we had stirred ourselves. It did not look good at that stage but the steadfast defence and composed competitiveness of the forwards first held back the tide and then slowly began to turn the game our way. For long periods we dominated and took the game very much to the other end of the pitch. Raees Rauf had the measure of his man and turned him time and again with some deft stickwork. Matthew Goodacre found space and Matthew Morris ran in from the wing putting pressure on the Dean Close defence. It was unfortunate that none of the opportunities were converted. The second half again saw Repton start with some determination but a break out and another quickly scored goal  put the game out of reach and in the final stages the fourth goal merely rubbed salt into our wounds. The team played some excellent hockey and this was most definitely a result that did not reflect the flow or pattern of the game. Danny Afoakwah played with passion and composure, Alex Nield proved to be competitive in mid-field and looming large, once again Digby Dymock had tet another immense game.
