Match Report:

Repton's bowlers did well to contain the opposition batsmen early on with Reynolds twirling his left-arm spin to good effect.  However a last over that went for 23 runs meant that the home side had to chase a formidable total.  Fox-Davies (on loan from the Under 15s) batted well and created a good tempo in chasing down the total.  Cartlidge added a second surge which put Repton in a good position, but he departed with work still to do.  Taft and Astin took up the battle and ensured that the run rate was achievable, as long as we did not lose wickets.  Astin was bowled off an inside edge and Reynolds was then out caught.  However, Taft delivered the coup de grace by striking the opposition's leading player for two glorious fours to win the match with time to spare.  This was a good win against a younger, but far more experienced, side.  Next stop: Oakham on Saturday.
