Match Report:
Though the scoreline was an improvement on last year's (a 5-1 loss), this was a game we should have won. Repton dominated the first half, having gone 2-0 up in the first ten mintues, but thereafter chance after chance was squandered, including a penalty stroke, which meant that the opposition were still in the game, courtesy of their only real chance from a penalty corner just before the break. Solihull then gave the Repton players a lesson in desire, work-rate and self-discipline. Two of their second half goals were gifts, turning the ball over in danger areas, and petulant reaction to umpiring decisions accounted for a third which proved decisive in the end.
