Boys' 3rd XI v Shrewsbury

Result: Shrewsbury 3-3 Repton ( Freedlander, Cordingley, Butters )

Match Report: The mighty 3rd XI lived up to their name indeed by putting in an impressive performance while others struggled. Thanks to good all round football and sheer determination, a lead of 3-0 was achieved with 20 minutes left. Goals had come from Harvey Butters ( a close-range header ), Andrew Freedlander ( right footed ! ) and Jonny Cordingley ( latching on to a rebound to fire it in ). Repton were good value for this lead.

At that point a second penalty of the game was awarded to the home side ( Tom Cosford had saved one in the first half ! ). This let them back into the game and with 5 minutes left 2 fortunate shots crept in and we were left to curse our luck !

I would like to pay tribute to this team for their magnificent efforts in what has been a season to remember ! Well played !MS
