Date: Saturday 1st May
Venue: Home
Team: Cordingley (capt), Blackwood, Butters, Byas, Duggan, Fox-Davies, Greatrex, Jones, Pearse, Rees-Jones, Shiralagi, Wood
Result: Won by 81 runs
Match Report: In another promising start against Wellingborough, Jones and Fox-Davies added 75 for the first wicket, but after the fall of the second wicket at 127 two unnecessary run-outs and some injudicious strokes brought about a middle order collapse. Duggan and Cordingley showed good common sense to add 34 for the last 2 wickets and thus helped the home team to post a demanding total for Wellingborough to chase. After a wayward first few overs Byas, Shiralagi, Cordingley and Greatrex tightened the rein with some accurate bowling before Blackwood came on to remove the dangerous Davies and effectively end the visitors’ run chase.
