Match Report:
Our prospects looked bleak on 36-5 at the start of the twelfth over but Blackwood proved the saviour, first building a sixth wicket partnership of 49 with Shiralagi and then enjoying good support from Greatrex in a ninth wicket stand of 29, before a brief flurry from last man Cordingley enabled us to post a below par but defendable total. Our hosts raced to 38-0 off the first 6 overs but Cordingley and Greatrex wrestled back control, taking 4-23 off the next 10 overs. Fearns displayed no little skill in placing his field astutely and deploying his bowlers well and when the eighth wicket fell at 106 the match looked safe. Uppingham threatened to make a challenge with a ninth wicket stand of 31 but good fielding brought about the third run out of the innings before man of the match Blackwood returned to take the final wicket.
