Match Report:
This is a very difficult match report to write, but I feel Repton deserve credit and should be praised for their football today under gale-like conditions. In the first half we played excellent football and were definitely the better side. Our passing, movement and runs (particularly by SWANN and WINFIELD on the wings) were outstanding and we dominated possession. We could have scored four or five goals, but only went in at half time 2-0 up. SWANN's goalward bound shot was touched in by the greedy (!) MCINTOSH to open the scoring and SUNNER scored the second. We hit the post twice in this half and MCINTOSH missed an absolute sitter.

In the second half Kimbolton improved and had better possession. However, Repton scored again through MCINTOSH and SWANN (whose corner went straight in). Kimbolton grabbed a well-worked goal to make the score 1-4, before SUNNER scored a fifth goal at the end.

This was an excellent performance by all and a delight to watch. Under very difficult conditions, the first half was one of the best 40 minutes of football I have seen in a long while. The back four deserved a clean sheet today, but a slight drop in concentration and perhaps a little over-confidence was their downfall. Nevertheless, a superb performance by all; well done boys.
