Repton 3-0 Wolverhampton GS
Match Report:
It can often be difficult to get going again after half-term and, with that in mind, I'm pleased with the overall performance today. The match started off as quite a scrappy affair with both sides looking a bit rusty after the break. The deadlock was broken after 15 minutes when a superb pass from Steven Mullen found and intelligent run from Ndu CHILAKA who picked his finish nicely. We were soon two up as Sam GRAHAM found space in the area before slotting his sixth of the season with another neat finish. The half was completed with a third goal as MULLEN raced in to maintain his goalscoring run with another excellent finish.
The second half didn't bring about any more goals, although we did create a few half chances for Rees-Jones and Woodhead. The defence looked comfortable, maintaining a good shape and offering impressive cover whenever we were stretched.
Overall, it was a reasonably comfortable win despite looking like we hadn't played for a couple of weeks. I was pleased with the defensive performance and the way we took our chances. I think it might take another couple of matches to run the rustiness out of our legs though.
