Boys' 1st XI to play at the Euro Hockey League

Following a superb season so far as reigning National Champions, the Boys' 1st XI hockey team travel to Amsterdam this weekend to watch the KO16 Round of the Euro Hockey League as part of this year's National Finals preparation.

Since its inception in 2007, the EHL (hockey's equivalent to the Champions League) has showcased most of the world's best players and is unquestionably the biggest club tournament in the world. The three English representatives have all made it through to the Last 16. Beeston play Dinamo Kazan at 8.30am on Friday 22nd April and East Grinstead and Reading play each other at 8.30am on Saturday morning. Both games are being shown live on Eurosport2 and all information can be found at www.ehlhockey.tv. Four members of Beeston's squad are currently on Repton's hockey coaching staff - Director of Hockey Martin Jones, Teacher Tim Whiteman, U15A coach David Ames and Goalkeeper coach George Pinner.

The Repton team has the huge privilege of being involved in the only non-EHL fixture allowed at the venue over the weekend when they take on the host club, Bloemendaal at 7pm on Friday evening. Unfortunately, though, this game is not live on Eurosport!

The National Finals are at Cannock Hockey Club on the 3rd and 4th May and Repton have been grouped with Cranleigh, Dean Close and Kings Chester.
