Match Report:
We were blessed with a dry and sunny day but not too hot which made conditions for competition ideal. Once again the overall results do not reflect the achievements of the individuals. Many events in both the senior boys' and girls' teams simply couldn't be filled due to the lack of athletes, and this was the same for the U15's. The afternoon was one of individual successes for many of our athletes and they should be congratulated for their efforts.
In boys' competitions, Neil Twidle (TJ), Greg Fearn (400m), Alex Jamison (800m) and George Brockway all achieved a personal best. Jordan King, who competed for the team for the first time, ran a superb and tactically brilliant 800m and won the race clocking in a time only 3 seconds off our own school record. Other notable performances across the age groups include Priestley (200m), Chaffey (Discus), Riley (1500m), Ser (LJ), Sharpe (100m) and Atkinson (Javelin).
In the girls' competitions, Amelia Etherington (100m & 200m), Hannah Barker (LJ), Amie King (Shot), Hannah Forsyth (100M), Caitlin Chadwick (300m), Sophie Charlesworth (Discus), Anna Bazhenova (HJ), Francesca Beharrell (Discus) and Lucy McSweeney (Discus) all achieved a personal best. Other notable performances across the age groups include Furness (Discus) who also gained first place, Marsay (Javelin), Bettson (Javelin) and C Perkins (Hurdles).
Well done to everybody.
