Congratulations to Mitre B Block girls – Emily Gerard Pearse, Nat Mansfield and Zoe Buckland who have all become Midlands U14 hockey outdoor champions today.
The three Mitre girls were part of a Repton team who beat off strong opposition in the group rounds of the Midlands finals to become Midlands champions. All three girls played superbly, with Emily at left mid, Nat in defense and Zoe playing on the right wing. Impressive score lines in the group stages included 3-0 wins against Rugby and Uppingham. The girls drew with Oundle 1-1 in the group stages, but went on to beat them with a superb 3-0 score in the final.
The National Finals will take place on March 2nd 2011 and the girls are looking forward to taking on the challenge of playing other regional winners. Well done indeed to all three girls who have really enjoyed their first year of hockey at Repton this year.
