The success of school athletics this term was marked by the awarding of athletics colours yesterday afternoon in the final meeting of the athletics team this term.
Hannah Barker U6M was awarded full athletics colours and given a teamsters award both for her success as an individual athlete and for the excellent job she has done this term as Captain of Athletics. Amelia Etherington U6M was also awarded a Teamster (full colours) having performed brilliantly as Deputy Captain of Athletics this year.
Both girls have been very important members of the athletics squad and have performed superbly this term in competitive events, including gaining silver medals in the County Athletics championships earlier this term.
In addition to these awards Georgina Whitehouse 4M was very successful in winning the annual pentathlon event. This is an excellent achievement and is an indication of Georgies’ skill as an all-round athlete.
