On Sunday 14th March the Art Department is opening its doors to art enthusiasts of all abilities in support of Help for Heroes with a ceramics and landscape painting masterclass.
Leading ceramicist John Wheeldon will introduce participants to the ancient art of Raku pottery; using traditional methods of glazing and firing, allowing the artist to exhibit a range of surface qualities unobtainable in normal methods of manufacture. Beautiful examples of John's work can be seen at www.johnwheeldonceramics.co.uk
Director of Art, Jeremy Bournon will lead the session of landscape painting, offering advice on technique and working closely with the group. Some of Jeremy's work is currently displayed in Gallery No 1 in the exhibition 'En Plein Air', details of which can be seen by clicking here.
The cost of the day, which will run from 10am to 5pm, is £65 per person which includes lunch and all materials for what should be an instructive and creative event.
Places are limited, please register your interest as soon as possible with Katy Strong (U6G) who is organising the day, by email to c.str08@repton.org.uk
