At a ceremony held at the Institution of Engineering & Technology in London Lower Sixth Formers Richard Doxey, Josh Benn and Annabelle Church were awarded the prestigious Arkwright Scholarships for their outstanding work in Design Technology.
Head of Design and Technology, Ian Setterington, who accompanied the pupils to the ceremony said, “The process of gaining an Arkwright award is very challenging and the scholarship is highly valued by industry and universities.”
A total of 730 candidates applied for the awards, and the 232 scholars were selected following a rigorous process comprising an application, aptitude test and interview. During their interviews, hosted by universities across the country, the pupils presented their GCSE coursework to the panel and discussed their commitment to design, engineering and technology.
