We are delighted to announce that baby Luke has not been the only addition to the Mitre family this year. We are now the proud owners of three new chickens who are happily residing in the Mitre orchard!
The chickens – Barker, Cornish and Sophie arrived yesterday and are named after last year’s Head of House and Deputies. They have quickly settled in to their new environment and Barker has already laid her first egg much to the excitement of Joshua!
We hope to encourage some of the girls to join in with some animal husbandry as we settle our new additions in. With so many of the girls having pets at home we know that many of them are really looking forward to spending some time learning how to look after the chickens!
