Another House match, another centurion, another victory!

Another House match, another centurion, another victory!

On Tuesday 25th May, Latham met New House in the semi-final of this year's Senior House cricket competition. Josh Moore won the toss and elected to bat first and, at 74 for 0 after 13 overs, the decision seemed a good one with Rees-Jones and Dancey in the 30s. Both boys, however, lost their wickets in the space of two balls, and it was left to Cosford and Moore to rebuild the innings. With seven overs to go Latham were 105 for 3 but Cosford then launched a blitz the like of which has rarely been seen on the first XI square, ending up 103 not out with the total on 210 for 3 from our 30 overs. He hit 7 sixes in total, including one out of the ground off his younger brother! The New House reply was very spirited with Cordingley landing some mighty blows. Once he was out, wickets tumbled regularly and the pick of the Latham bowlers was Hugill who bagged 5 dismissals from his 7 overs. The tail wagged a little, but New House were never really in the game and they ended up 175 for 9 from their 30 overs. We now face School House in the final after half-term. Watch this space...
