On Sunday 9th May, Amy Chatterton and Hannah Clarke-Lowe (both A Block), took part in the Race for Life at Darley Park, Derby, supporting Cancer Research.

Their race began at 10:30am and the weather was the best it has been for a while. They covered a huge 5km around Darley Park and there were over 3500 women taking part, some wearing costume and everyone dressed in pink!

Race for life is the UK’s largest women only fundraising event. To date, over 4.7 million women have raised over £327 million for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work. Every pound raised in sponsorship or fundraising helps to fund the work of over 4,500 researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer
Since 1994, women of all ages across the UK have come together at these inspiring events to walk, jog or run 5km to help beat cancer. Race for Life is Cancer Research UK's most important event, with over 230 events taking place across the UK between May and July.

Some take part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future. But all of them share a common goal: to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work to beat cancer
So far Hannah and Amy have raised over £220 you can still sponsor Amy at http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/amychatterton or Hannah at http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/stephanielowe2
