Academic Accolades

Speech Day, marking the end of a busy and successful year, brought some well-deserved academic recognition for a fifth of the boys in the house. Headmaster’s Lower School Prizes were awarded to Joey Ser, Jordan King and Alex Jamison whilst Alastair Carr picked up the Junior Short Story Prize and Jacob Adams won the A Block Business Studies Prize. Amongst the seniors, Freddie Haydn-Slater won the Drama Duologue Prize, Aaron Burgess-Smith scooped the Economics Prize, Aaron Paxton was awarded the Tom Upfill Mathematics Prize, Pavel Shaynoga the Michael Milford Physics Prize and Tony Lam earned the distinction of being named one of the most distinguished Overseas students of his peer group. Finally, in addition to collecting the Upper Sixth Business Studies Prize, Andy Brigham was awarded a Sir John Port Prize in recognition of his distinguished service as a School Prefect. Congratulations to all of the prize winners and I trust that their success will inspire other boys from The Cross to continue to strive for academic excellence in the coming year.
