The Repton girls' squad of Shivani Patel (G), Henrietta Alton (A), Kadi Liis Saar (G) and Charlotte Jameson (M) who were seeded 4th for this year’s Aberdare Cup, had excellent wins against Durham High School and Queenswood during the rounds. In the semi-finals they played old rivals Millfield and the girls really came alive and played outstanding tennis winning the tie 4-2. This put them through to the final for the first time in 22 years which was an outstanding achievement.
The final was played against Cheam High School, the title holders for the previous four years, and Repton again played excellent tennis. After the singles the match was tied at 2 all and the doubles were also shared so the match was all square at 3 matches all. The match had to be decided on a match shoot out tie break which the Repton girls narrowly lost 6-10.
Many congratulations to the girls, who should be very proud of reaching the Aberdare final for the first time in 22 years.
