Repton School Welcomes Olympic Hockey Gold Medallist, Teun de Nooijer

Repton School has welcomed two-time Olympic gold medallist and three-time World Player of the Year, Teun de Nooijer.

During his 18-year playing career, De Nooijer played a world record 453 time for the Netherlands and, along with two Olympic golds, won two Olympic silvers. In the inaugural 2013 Hockey India League, De Nooijer signed for the UP Wizards.

De Nooijer, who recently began working in a managerial role with Dutch professional football club AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie, delivered a workshop aimed at coaches. The workshop was attended by Repton School staff and by hockey coaches drawn from the local area. Mr Martin Jones, Director of Hockey and Performance Sport Lead at Repton School, commented: “It is such an honour to have someone of Teun's repute with us here at Repton. The insight he gave, through his phenomenal experience and understanding of elite sport, made it a fascinating evening for all in attendance.”
