Repton Sale of Work 2017

Repton Sale of Work 2017

The first Saturday after half term, Saturday 4th November, will once again host the School and village’s annual Sale of Work fundraising day. As ever, we are looking forward to funds raised going to a range of local, national and international charities.
Last year more than £17,000 was raised as a result of the main event on the day, as well as the cabarets, dinners and auctions run by the boarding Houses, which is a fantastic result.  Often funds raised find their way to charities and organisations within just a few miles of Repton, including St Wystans, Repton Lunch Club, Repton Village Hall, Repton Primary School and Newton Solney Infant School.  We hope that each year the combined good work of the School and Village can help support the excellent work these organisations continue to do.

This year, alongside the entrepreneurial ideas and activities of the pupils’ stalls, we are including some popular external small business sellers, including: Phoenix Greetings Cards, Candles by Louise Higgins, Forteys of Melbourne and Colenso Chocolates, amongst others. So whether it’s the ducking stool, tea and cake, games and activities for children, artisan items and crafts, or the fireworks that take your fancy, we hope that you will come along and enjoy the day!

Regular visitors of the Sale of Work will know we draw House raffles and prize draws towards the end of the afternoon. The Houses running these are always grateful of the parental contributions to these draws and we would like to thank donors in advance for any contributions they may wish to give this year.
After the spectacular display of fireworks last year, we’re delighted to announce they will return again for 2017. We’re not sure how we can top last year’s display, but as ever, members of the village, parents, staff and pupils will be warmly welcomed to view the show from the Paddock area, directly inside the school grounds.

The display will start around 5.30pm, with warm and delicious refreshments on offer, with a retiring charity collection.

We look forward to seeing many parents, ORs and pupils this year, to help raise a significant sum for charity, and perhaps get ahead with some Christmas gift purchases, on what we hope will be a very enjoyable afternoon!
Anyone wishing to take part or assist with any part of the day, or wish to make a donation to a House raffle, should contact Miss Gemma Hill, co-ordinator of the Sale of Work, by email. (
