On Thursday evening, Repton welcomed Mr Mark Hatton, an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at Nottingham QMC, to give a talk at MedSoc.
The talk was entitled “Mending Broken Bones” and contained a fascinating mix of examples of normal procedures and some extreme cases, all accompanied with gory pictures of course.
It was extremely interesting to hear a little about what it is like to be an orthopaedic surgeon, as well as learning about the physiology of bones and how they mend, including an entertaining demonstration involving a large group of the audience.
The talk was inspiring and the turnout of prospective medics were all captivated for the entirety of the presentation, shown by the volume and range of questions offered to Mr Hatton at the end of his talk.
On behalf of the MedSoc I would like to thank Mr Hatton for giving us his time, a fantastic talk and all the sweets!
