Five Repton School pupils have been selected for ISFA representative national teams at the U18, U17 and U16 age groups. Final trials took place on Sunday 26th November at Shrewsbury School before the ISFA teams were selected.
Approximately 800-900 pupils participate in ISFA representative trials and events each season, making selection for an ISFA representative team place a hard-fought achievement. Merlin (U6O) and Otis (U6O) have been selected for the U18s; Matthew (L6S) and Tommy(L6O) for the U17s and Jacob (5C) for the U16s.
Mr Matthew Carrington, Director of Football at Repton, commented: “It is a huge honour for the boys, their families and for the school. The team is having a tremendous season and these boys have been outstanding; it is great to see this recognised. All five are superb examples of how it is possible to combine a high level of football with academic opportunities. These boys are opening up pathways that would not have been accessible to them without education, whether in the UK or in the US College system.”
The selection of five Repton pupils for the ISFA Representative Teams caps a splendid term of football at Repton School.
