I can't remember the last time I had such an exciting afternoon - and that was after getting lost in Cannock on the Sat Nav! The final of the U14 National Hockey was a nail-biting affair and I don't know who was shouting louder me or Mrs Sanders! There was a terrifying moment when Arnold were 1-0 up in the second half and Erica slid across the pitch then lay motionless for a tense couple of minutes. Erica went on to score 2 super goals and Laura passed a beautiful ball to Camilla for her to fire into the goal. Laura was a crafty and speedy centre-forward who never gave up on the ball, setting up the 2 goals scored by Erica from a short corner. Camilla as right mid distributed the ball well to the forwards and now has a goal in a National Final to her name. Fay was amazing as defence keeping Arnold well away from the goal. ( ..have to mention her even though she's not a Garden girl!!) Millie played left wing and made great runs forcing Arnold to make unnecessary errors. It was great to see Steph back on form in defence after an injury stopped her playing earlier in the season. Lizzie is just simply an unsung hero!! The remainder of the team, Jess, Zoe, Freya, Georgia, Lauren, Emily, and Nat played equally important roles and I am sure their Houseparents are just as proud of them!
What a smashing day for Garden and for Repton. Garden would like to thank Mr Clague and Mr Jones for their dedication and skill.

Well done to the entire squad- you shone and showed how to really work together as a team...!!
