Match Report:

This was a match that brought together a considerable amount of training sessions focussing on set play and tactical work which the girls hadn’t had the opportunity to put in place since our last competitive match. Repton used the development of their squad and skill-base to their advantage and demonstrated some great play, varying their passes and making good use of the court space from the off. Worksop were not to be underestimated and the girls never sat back on their laurels and constantly kept up the pressure on the opposition gaining and retaining the ball many times over, and they quickly went ahead in the first quarter.

I was pleased to see the girls use this match as an opportunity to draw on what they had learnt so far and was proud to see the way they read the game and adapted their play with rapid pace. On many occasions “stacks” worked incredibly well from first centre pass! But this game also demonstrated the girls’ ability to combine natural and set play with relative ease.

Accuracy of play improved with every quarter and communication again was their biggest strength: by slowing down their play they were able to increase the speed of which the goals entered the net!

A big thank you to the Worksop girls for demonstrating excellent play and attitude at all times. Never once did they complain even though the match and the score ultimately went against them.

Well done Repton!
