It is wonderful to report that Mitre girls across all the teams this weekend have had a significant impact on results.
In the superb win by the U16A team against Kimbolton of 6 goals to 0 the Mitre girls played a critical part. Amazingly, all 6 goals were scored by Mitre House members. Eleanor Sharples 5M scored a hat trick, with one of these goals being set up for her by Rosie Cordingley 5M. Rosie herself scored 1 goal and worked hard to create other opportunities in the circle. To complete the trio, Charlotte Graham 5M, scored 2 goals and helped to finish the match with a score line of 6-0.
Mitre talent was also seen in other games and in particular in the 2nd XI match , a 2-1 victory against Kimbolton. Both of these goals were scored by Emily Renshaw in L6M.
Many congratulations also to the U15A team who also had a superb fixture against Kimbolton winning 3-0. In this match Georgina Whitehouse 4M scored 2 of the goals, and the 3rd was scored by Phoebe Roberts 4M.
The mighty 5th XI also had a great afternoon winning their match 4-0 against Oundle. Here again, Mitre girls made a fantastic contribution, with Phoebe Walters scoring 2 of the goals and the whole team should be delighted with this impressive first win of the season.
What a wonderful start to the hockey season this has been, and great to see Mitre girls so involved in the hockey programme across the range of fixtures. Well done on your hard work and talent and on representing the school with such distinction this weekend girls.
