2009 Charity Dinner

This year’s Charity Dinner was held on the 10^th of October and, true to Orchard traditions, was full of hearty fun throughout the night. Many Orchard parents attended as well as the tutors and Mr. And Mrs. Smith. There were cocktails before a wonderfully cooked three course meal by our chef, Carl Pezutti. The whole night, organised with accomplished finesse by the Orchard Lower Sixth, ran with consummate – but utterly predictable – ease and elegance, bursting with laughter, quizzes and party games, not least the ever-popular heads and tails. The House also held an auction which included a whole variety of lots such as a Manchester United football shirt signed by many of the players, a day’s paint-balling, a trip to the Clothes Show, model aeroplanes and many more – all very kindly donated by Orchard parents and staff. All who were present remarked how enjoyable the whole evening was, and, just as importantly, we estimate that, before costs, in excess of £6,000 was raised for some great causes.
