Match Report:
Repton started well and were 2-0 ahead inside six minutes. Megan Byas improves week by week and linked well with Ellie Green on the right flank in the opening exchanges. Both players, although very different in style, made scything runs in the build up to the opening goals.
There was no doubt who the penalty taker would be, after Friday's practice, when a Sedbergh defender saved a shot with the back of her stick midway through the first half. Wiz Mumby scored 'every time' at training and slotted home in exactly the same style we were all expecting.
Friedi Juncker scored the goal of the second half finishing off a decent move in style and another notable performance was turned in by Helen Raynor - who, I think, had a 100% possession record.
Sedbergh competed well, particularly in the second half, when they showed belief in their ability and they defended penalty corners superbly throughout the game. Despite it being our longest away journey, it is great to have the fixture and we look forward to hosting them at Repton next year.
There is plenty of room for improvement for us in front of goal and penalty corners need to be much slicker. Denstone visit us on Tuesday for which we will, at Denstone's request, field a full team.
