1st XI Footballers win ISFA Sixes

The 1st XI footballers managed to secure the first major ISFA title of the year on Sunday with victory in the a2om ISFA Sixes competition. The tournament, which is ISFA's oldest competition, was held on home turf and saw 24 of the best sides in independent school football battling for the trophy.

The Repton side was boosted by Northern Ireland international Johnny Gorman (C) who played a key role in the triumph. Despite starting the day at 10am and finishing at 5pm, Repton was the only side to win all eight matches, scoring 22 goals and letting in only 3 in the process.

The tournament has been a permanent fixture in the ISFA calendar since 1957 and this was our third triumph, with 1958 and 1998 being the others. It has certainly made for a promising start to the season as the 1st XI embark on their campaign to reach the Boodles ISFA Cup Final for a second consecutive year.
